A Downingtown native and graduate of Philadelphia's Restaurant School at Walnut College, Chef Alex brings 22 years of experience to the table.
Alex's career started early in catering before entering the restaurant world. His 12 years of work as an Executive Chef in Chester County allowed him to put his classical training to the test. His culinary works ranged from Brewpubs and cooking with local brews, Italian, locally sourced farm-to-table dishes, and Texas style BBQ. He enjoyed two years working as a culinary instructor, teaching the basics from knife skills to creating multi course meals.
In 2019, Chef Alex decided to take the leap and officially open Alexander Catering Company and Shimpy's BBQ. Serving Chester County and beyond, Alex's focus is creating amazing food, served by great people to provide an outstanding experience to clients.
